Beryllium copper is an age-hardenable alloyBeryllium copper is a unique copper alloy in that is it one of only a few classes of coppers that can be age-hardened. The age-hardening of beryllium copper will accent the ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness or electrical conductivity singly or in one of many possible combinations. Before ageing beryllium alloys they are remarkably easy to form. But, only proper aging imparts the desired properties for top performance. To achieve these properties you must follow strict time and temperature heat treatment cycles. At the same time, beryllium copper alloy has high thermal conductivity and high electrical conductivity, excellent processing performance, non-magnetic, and no sparks when impacted.
